Not Just For Families and Couples
Why you should celebrate "you"!
If I had a nickel for every time a person wanted to have a solo session "just for fun" or for a birthday but was afraid it would "look weird" or "seem conceited", well, I'd have a ton of nickels. The simple fact is that anyone can have a photo session any time for any reason, and you absolutely should! For me, there's nothing that says a photo session needs to be for a family, a couple or any "traditional" reason, if you want to then that's good enough reason for me.
A big reason I am seeing a lot of requests lately is because of milestone birthdays, particularly those hitting their 30's. One of the best presents you can give yourself is the confidence boost that some great pictures can provide. There's nothing "conceited" o"vain" about it in my opinion, and given the year we've all had sometimes a little pick-me-up is all we need. There's a ton of fun ways to make a birthday session your own too! Whether it's incorporating your bestie, some wine or beer or some other guilty pleasure you may have, the possibilities are almost limitless. Be creative, take some time to think about it and let me know when you're ready to book the session, I'm always up for something new!
Another reason that is beginning to come up more is those wanting to update a dating profile to get over an ex. While not nearly as common as other reasons, it's definitely becoming a little more frequent. After all, what better way to get over an ex than to get some killer photos and make them realize what they're missing out on? Get all dressed up, put on your "sunday best" and let's get to snappin' some incredible photos to attract some of those other fish in the sea!
Maybe you don't need a reason, maybe you just want to do something fun for yourself? That's great too! If that's your aim then a lifestyle shoot is a great idea! Let's set some time aside to go around to some of your favorite places and just capture what makes you happy. Love tacos? Let's do a Taco Tuesday shoot of you enjoying a huge platter of street tacos. Maybe a wine bar or brew hall is more your vibe? Let's grab a few flights and capture the moments as you sip and savor your favorite beverages. Big time shopaholic? Let's go on a shopping spree and document the trip as you find the perfect outfits and accessories!
