Engagement for Saul & Lauren

Rose Garden - Minneapolis

This session was one for the memory books in the best ways possible, folks. When photographers talk about their ideal session, this was it. Their session was a contracted gig and they were apprehensive and nervous about the session because Saul is from Mexico and only speaks Spanish which meant Lauren would have to translate for him as we went. Never one to be scared away by a challenge, I thought of ways to help alleviate the language barrier to help make them more comfortable. One thing that helped us both immensely was I saved poses on my phone to show them what to do so as not to over-complicate things for Lauren while translating to Saul. In-between walking to various spots around the location, Lauren told me about how they had met when she was in Mexico working for an orphanage where Saul worked. They hit it off and fell for each other, but they had to make long distance work as Lauren moved back to Minnesota while Saul had to stay in Mexico a while longer. Once he was moved up to Minnesota they had 90 days to get married or his visa would expire. Amidst all the stories and telling me about their upcoming wedding we had a ton of laughs and joked around about how Lauren was sure Saul loved some of the poses more than others.
