All-Star Craft Beer and Wine Festival
September 14, 2019
The All Star Craft Beer and Wine Festival descended upon the Twin Cities for the first time in the middle of September. This beer enthusiast style event is one that I personally am a huge fan of, as are a plethora of Minnesota natives! What was unique about this one is it incorporated beer, wine AND craft cocktails to provide a new experience to a familiar event.
The event was held at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, who as it happened are having a phenomenal year and seem to be playoff bound for the first time in a long time. There were two sessions for this event, a day and an evening. Both sessions were packed and sold out days before the event took place.
Patrons of the event were met with a wide variety of local and national brews, a diverse selection of wines and a hardy variety of some unique craft cocktails. The warning track and dugouts were also opened to walk and explore, which was a delight to all that attended!
Both sessions were approximately 4 hours, which provided ample time to wander around and consume copious amounts of alcohol. Thankfully the event had deals in place to help those that had a little too much get home safely.
In addition to the obvious drinking, there was also a large selection of items to bid on at the silent auction as well as drinking games a plenty. The bag toss and giant connect four were of particular popularity throughout the event.
This was the first time I had ever attended one of these events and not been sampling as many new brews as I could, but what an incredible experience it was! I had the chance to converse with the event promoters and discuss some ideas for the next time they come back, and casually mention I'd love to shoot the event again when they come back. Overall I had a great time and want to again take the time to thank the staff for being so accommodating and for having me out!
